Vom 30. Juni bis 3. Juli 2015 findet in Versaille “The 8th European Society for Environmental History Biennial Conference” statt. Prof. Dr. Klaus Gestwa, Dr. Melanie Arndt, Dr. Marc Elie, Dr. Laurent Coumel werden gemeinsam an mehreren Panels teilnehmen und dort auch den Vorsitz übernehmen. Am Dienstag wird Dr. Laurent Coumel einen Vortag halten mit dem Titel “Ecological mobilization and landscape protection on the upper Volga River: patrimonialization of nature in the late Soviet period”.

The 8th Conference of the European Society for Environmental Biennial Conference will take place from 30 June until 3 July 2015 in Versailles, France. Together, Prof. Dr. Klaus Gestwa, Dr. Melanie Arndt, Dr. Marc Elie and Dr. Laurent Coumel will attend the conference’s panels, some of whom will be chaired by them. On Tuesday, Dr. Laurent Coumel will give a lecture on the “Ecological mobilization and landscape protection on the upper Volga River: patrimonialization of nature in the late Soviet period”.

Melanie Arndt chaired and commented on the panel “Uncovering the Environment in Popular Imagination” which dealt with the perception of toxic landscapes in both reality construction and cultural processing of such environments in fiction, movies and popular songs.
